The final farewell

handsAfter a funeral at St Mary Magdalene, Great Hampden, you can choose to either have a burial in our churchyard or a cremation. Many families who are having a cremation choose to have a committal on the driveway. We say our final farewell to our loved ones at St Mary Magdalene, Great Hampden, and the funeral directors take your loved one to the crematorium. This means you are not tied to the crematorium’s availability and you are less likely to lose some mourners.

After the Funeral

Busy hotels and pubs can leave little room for mourning and celebrating a loved one undisturbed. Travelling between two separate locations can also make it difficult for older members of your group to attend, especially when parking is limited.

St Mary Magdalene, Great Hampden, is in the grounds of Hampden House who can offer the perfect space for the reception - without any of the issues separate venues can bring. After the service, you can simply walk across the driveway to the reception.

We can discuss all of this when we meet but you can always contact the Church Office to discuss your wishes and requirements if you need to decide quickly.

fun coffin2Loving God,

the shadow of death has fallen over me

because someone I love has died.

Be with me through this time,

comfort me with your presence,

and let me see the light of hope,

for you promise eternal life

through Jesus Christ your son,

who died and rose again. Amen.
