Welcome to our church.

St Mary Magdalene, Great Hampden is a well-loved parish church serving Great Hampden and the surrounding villages. We are made up of people of different ages and backgrounds who enjoy being a part of the life of our church. We come together to give thanks to God every Sunday at 11.15am, and we invite you to join us!

Pledge so far

We want to be a welcoming church for the 21st century, offering a place for people to encounter God in their lives.

Whilst retaining the character of our historic building with some simple changes, we can create an exciting space for worship, pilgrimage, music and the arts. Please support our '2023 and Beyond' appeal.

Great Hampden '2023 and Beyond' Project Update

Help us raise the last £25,000 to finish the job!

We have reached the final stage of the Great Hampden 2023 and Beyond Appeal. We have until the end of August to raise the final £25,000 we need to redecorate the church. Please help us reach this milestone this year. If we can't reach our total by the end of August we cannot commit to the scaffolders, conservators and decorators in time to get the church redecorated before Christmas. Please help us get there!

How Can I Help?

Or you can give regularly through the Parish Giving Scheme. The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is a secure, established service for managing Direct Debit donations, designed to support churches to fund their mission and ministry. We would like you to make a regular monthly payment, as this helps us to plan ahead for the year. A sizable proportion of us give between £50 and £250 per month, with some giving less and some giving more. We all need to give proportionately to support the work of our church. This means thinking about what other costs we have in our lives, and valuing our church and its life sensibly within that.
